Visa application fee (Modelo 790, code 038)
Approximate — the official fee is set by the Ministerio de Interior.
TIE card fee
Free — the TIE card is issued at the biometric appointment at no additional cost.
NIE (tax ID) fee
Free — the NIE is assigned automatically when your TIE is issued.
Sworn translations
Typically €30–€60 per page for sworn translations by a traductor jurado.
Apostille or legalisation
Typically €50–€200, varies by the issuing country and document type.
Private health insurance
Typically €50–€150 per month depending on coverage and age.
Travel to Spain (at least twice during the process)
Typically €200–€800 per trip depending on origin and flights.
Accommodation proof
Typically €60–€120 per night for a hotel booking used as proof of address.
